Oman will face Namibia in their opening match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 at Kensington Oval.
The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is being co-hosted by the USA and West Indies. With a total of 20 teams, this year’s event is the biggest edition of the tournament ever. There are a total of 55 matches to be played in the tournament across nine different venues.
In the first round, there are four different groups, comprising five teams each. Oman, who qualified through the Gulf Qualifiers, are in Group B. They are grouped with England, Australia, Namibia and Scotland. It is a tough group for the West Asian side.
Aqib Ilyas will be leading Oman in the T20 World Cup 2024. They will face Namibia on June 2 in their opening game of the tournament.
Here we will talk about five Oman players whom you should pick for your Dream11 team in the T20 World Cup 2024.
Here are the five Oman stars you must have in your Dream11 teams during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024:
5. Ayaan Khan
An all-rounder is often the preferred choice on any fantasy cricket platform. And if an all-rounder is of the caliber of Ayaan Khan, then you don’t have to think twice before picking him in your side. The 31-year-old has been a key part of the team for past few years. He is one of Oman’s consistent performers. Ayaan bats in the middle-order and is a handy left-arm spinner as well. Hence, he is someone who should be in your teams across fantasy cricket platforms.
4. Bilal Khan
Bilal Khan is one of the renowned players from his country. He is the go-to bowler for his skipper. He bowls with a bit of a slingy action and challenges the batters with his pace. With 106 T20I wickets, he is Oman’s leading wicket-taker. Bilal has also played in the Bangladesh Premier League and Abu Dhabi League.
3. Aqib Ilyas
Captain Aqib Ilyas is another player who could give you points in both departments on fantasy cricket platforms. He has been given the captaincy by Zeeshan Maqsood because of his impressive performances in recent years. In T20Is, Aqib has scored 1176 runs with nine half-centuries and taken 37 wickets at an economy rate of 5.93. These stats are enough to encourage you to pick him as captain or vice-captain of your Dream11 team.
2. Mohammad Nadeem
Oman have several all-rounders in their side and Mohammad Nadeem is one of them. He has made his mark as a genuine all-rounder who can bowl at any stage of the match. He bowls at a decent speed and has picked 30 wickets at an economy rate of 7.43. His role with the bat is clear: hit sixes in the death overs. On his day, he can give you the highest amount of fantasy points in a game.
1. Zeeshan Maqsood
Former Oman captain and probably the best player in the team, Zeeshan Maqsood should be at the top of your list when you make your fantasy cricket teams. He is a top-order batter who plays spin and pace well. He has a T20I hundred to his name. With the ball, he can chip in with wickets in the middle overs. So, you can pick Zeeshan as your captain on fantasy cricket platforms during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
