Uganda will face Afghanistan in their opening match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 has brought 20 teams together to compete in this tournament. The ninth edition of the tournament is scheduled to be held across nine different venues in the USA and West Indies. 20 teams will play 55 matches, and only one can end up winning the title. There are three teams making their debut in the T20 World Cup.
Uganda are one of them, and they will play their first ever T20 World Cup event. It is a huge moment for them, and it can give them a push in the game. They made it through the African qualifiers after beating teams like Zimbabwe and Kenya, which means they are a pretty strong side. Brian Masaba will lead this team. In this article, we will talk about the five Ugandan players whom you should pick in your Dream11 team in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
Here are the five Ugandan stars you must have in your Dream11 teams during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024:
5. Simon Ssesazi
Simon Ssesazi is the backbone of Uganda batting order. He is one of the top scorers among the players from the Associate Nations. It will be a surprise for many that his record is even better than that of Chris Gayle in T20Is. Gayle has 1899 runs in 75 innings, and Simon has 2072 in 76 innings. Hence, his wicket is very important, and he generally does well with the bat. So he is a must-have player while making Dream11 teams.
4. Riazat Ali Shah
Born in Pakistan, Riazat Ali Shah is another consistent performer for Uganda with the bat. He played a vital role in his team qualifying for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. He has scored 1212 runs at an average of 35 and a strike rate of 130. He likes to deal mainly in sixes and has already hit 57 of those. Riazat is also a good fielder, which can help you collect more points across fantasy cricket platforms.
3. Brian Masaba
As a captain, you are expected to always do well for your team. Hence, Brian Masaba, who will be leading Uganda in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, should be in your fantasy cricket team. He is someone who adds value to both departments and give you important points with both the bat and ball. Brain will give you the assurance to get a decent amount of points on fantasy cricket platforms.
2. Roger Mukasa
Roger Mukasa is another important member of Uganda batting unit. The wicket-keeper batter is a floater, who can bat in any position, but mainly bats in middle order. He is capable of playing long innings and quick cameos as the situation demands. Adding to that, he can give you a decent amount of points behind the wickets as well, which is an additional benefit. So he can be a good vice-captain.
1. Dinesh Nakrani
Dinesh Nakrani is the biggest name in this team. Born in Saurashtra, India, he is Uganda’s biggest match-winner with both the bat and ball. A batting average and strike rate of 31.43 and 132.13, to go with an incredible bowling economy rate of 5.63, prove that he can give you what you are looking for on fantasy cricket platforms. So without much research, you can pick Dinesh Narkrani as your Dream11 captain for Uganda’s matches in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
