Yuvraj Singh feels Pakistan need to make significant improvements in their batting and fielding departments.

Following Pakistan’s shocking loss to the USA in their ICC T20 World Cup 2024 encounter, legendary Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has opined that India are now firm favourites for the IND vs PAK clash.

Babar Azam’s side suffered one of the biggest upsets in T20 World Cup history when they went down by five runs in the Super Over against the USA in Dallas on Thursday.

This was the USA’s second win in two matches in the tournament, having beaten Canada in the opening match of the competition. Now the co-hosts have a good chance of making it to the Super 8. For Pakistan, a loss against a team they were expected to beat has complicated matters for them, and now their encounter against India is virtually a must-win game.

Rohit Sharma’s team will meet Pakistan on June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York, where India have played two matches already – a warm-up game against Bangladesh and their first Group A match against Ireland – and won them both.

It’s gonna be hard to beat India: Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh is currently in America as ICC ambassador for the T20 World Cup. He had a short stint in the commentary box during the India vs Ireland match.

After Pakistan’s loss against the USA, the 2007 T20 World Cup winner took to Twitter to give his opinion on the Men In Green.

Yuvraj stated, “Pakistan needs a must-win against India & they surely need to bat & field better! With India’s strong start, it’s gonna be hard to beat us!

Yuvraj also expressed surprise at the fact that Fakhar Zaman didn’t take the strike against left-arm pacer Saurabh Netravalkar in the Super Over. Zaman, in fact, didn’t get to face a single ball in the Super Over as Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan faced all six balls.

The 2011 World Cup’s Man of the Tournament also heaped praise on the USA team and their captain, Monank Patel, who was the Player of the Match for his half-century.
