PNG will face West Indies in their first game of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 on June 2.
The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will get underway in the USA and West Indies on June 1. The top 20 international teams in the world will participate in the 55-match tournament that will be played in nine different stadiums.
Three teams will make their debuts in the tournament, while other associate nations will look to register surprise victories over higher-ranked sides.
Papua New Guinea (PNG) will also feature in this competition. This will be their second appearance at the ICC T20 World Cup. Assad Vala will be leading this team into this mega event. They are in Group C with West Indies, Afghanistan, New Zealand, and Uganda. They will play their opening match on June 2 against the co-hosts West Indies at the Providence Stadium, Guyana.
There are a few talented names on this team who can be game-changers. Here, we will talk about five PNG players whom you should pick for your Dream11 team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
Here are the five PNG stars you must have in your Dream11 teams during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024:
5. Charles Amini

Veteran all-rounder Charles Amini is a vital member of the team in this format. He was one of the key contributors to PNG making it to the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. He bats in the middle-order and bowls leg-spin. He is reliable with both bat and ball. Amini is his country’s third-highest run-scorer and second-highest wicket-taker in T20Is. He is the right choice for a vice-captain on fantasy cricket platforms
4. Lega Siaka

Lega Siaka is an aggressive opener and can give you plenty of points for your Dream11 team. The right-hander is known for his attacking style of batting in the powerplay. He attempts big shots from the get-go and has had quite a bit of success. Siaka can also add value as a backup pacer.
3. Tony Ura

Tony Ura is the backbone of the side’s batting order because he brings his powerhitting into the game. An average of 34 and a strike rate of 156 speaks volumes of his batsmanship in T20Is. He is a wicket-keeper; so, he can give points with the gloves as well. Tony is the biggest six-hitter on his team, having hit 95 sixes in 55 innings. Ura is his nation’s all-time leading T20I scorer.
2. Alei Nao

If you are looking for a bowling option, Alei Nao is good choice as he bowls in both powerplay and death-over phases of the game. The pacer has been in impressive form recently, having taken five wickets in two warmup matches. He can give you a couple of wickets in the game. Hence, you should pick him in your fantasy cricket team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
1. Assad Vala

If you are new to fantasy cricket platforms, you can simply go with Assad Vala as the captain of your Dream11 team. The veteran all-rounder is the best player of his side: he is his nation’s third-highest wicket-taker and second-leading run-scorer in the shortest format. He is a floater who can bat in any position. Adding to that, he also bowls four overs regularly. Vala is a complete T20 package to have in your fantasy cricket team.
