ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Canada squad, schedule, timings, venues and all you need to know

This will be the first appearance for Canada in the T20 World Cup.

Cricket Canada announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 on May 2. This will be the first time that the Canada men’s cricket team will take part in the T20 World Cup. The upcoming prestigious tournament will be jointly hosted by the West Indies and the United States of America in June.

All-rounder Saad Bin Zafar has been named as the skipper for the Canadian team for the T20 World Cup 2024. Aaron Johnson and Kaleem Sana, who have decent experience of playing at the international level, have been added to the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC tournament.

The selection committee has ignored Nikhil Dutta. Tajinder Singh will be travelling with the team as a reserve player. Aaditya Varadharajan, Ammar Khalid, Jatinder Matharu and Parveen Kumar have also been included as reserve players, but they will not travel to the World Cup. They will join the team if required during the global tournament.

Canada full schedule for ICC T20 World Cup 2024:

Canada are slotted in Group A along with co-hosts United States, Ireland, Pakistan and India.

They will play their first match against the USA on June 1. They will then take on Ireland on June 7. Their third and final league matches against Pakistan and India are on June 11 and 15 respectively.

• June 1: vs United States of America
• June 7: vs Ireland
• June 11: vs Pakistan
• June 15: vs India

The Super 8 matches will be played from June 19 to 25.

At which venues will Canada play their group stage matches in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024?

Canada will play their first group match at the Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas. The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York, will host their next two matches. Canada’s last group game will be held at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida.

• June 1: vs United States of America, Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas
• June 7: vs Ireland, Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York
• June 11: vs Pakistan, Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York
• June 15: vs India, Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida

What are the timings of Canada matches in the T20 World Cup 2024?

Their first league match against co-hosts USA will be telecast at 6:00 AM IST / 12:30 AM GMT (June 2) / 7:30 PM local time (June 1).

Their remaining three group matches against Ireland, Pakistan and India will be played at 8:00 PM IST / 2:30 PM GMT / 9:30 AM local time.
