ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Ireland squad, schedule, timings, venues and all you need to know

Ireland will kickoff their ICC T20 World Cup 2024 campaign on June 5 against India.

Ireland announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 on May 7. The prestigious tournament will be jointly co-hosted by the West Indies and the United States of America in June.

Veteran cricketer Paul Stirling will lead the Iraland side in the marquee tournament. It is to be noted that Stirling replaced Andy Balbirnie as Ireland’s white-ball captain last year.

Left-arm seamer Joshua Little along with Mark Adair will lead the pace attack. However, the selectors have also named Graham Hume, Campher, Barry McCarthy, and Craig Young as other fast-bowling options.

Star leg-spinner Ben White and all-rounder Gareth Delany have also been named in the Irish squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. Ireland’s batting unit is strengthened by Harry Tector, Lorcan Tucker, Ross Adair, and Curtis Campher.

The Irish side has featured in all men’s T20 World Cups since 2009, making it to the Super Eight stage on their debut.

Ireland full schedule for T20 World Cup 2024:

The Paul Stirling-led side is placed in Group A along with two Asian giants, Pakistan and India. The other two teams being Canada and the co-hosts USA.

The Irish side will play their first game against Rohit Sharma-led India on June 5. They will then take on Canada on June 7, followed by USA clash on June 14. Their final league stage match against Pakistan will be played on June 16.

• June 16: vs Pakistan

The Super Eight matches will be played from June 19 to June 25.

In which venues will the Ireland play their group stage matches in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024?

The Irish side will play their first two group stage match against India and Canada at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York. Their remaining two games against USA and Pakistan will be hosted at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill.

Ireland’s first match against India is scheduled to be played from 8:00 PM IST / 02:30 PM GMT / 09:30 AM local time on June 5. Their second match against Canada will be played at 8:00 PM IST / 02:30 PM GMT / 09:30 AM local time on June 7.

Stirling-led side’s match against co-hosts USA will be played at 8:00 PM IST / 02:30 PM GMT / 10:30 AM local time on June 14. Their final group stage game against Pakistan will be played at 8:00 PM IST / 02:30 PM GMT / 10:30 AM local time on June 16.
