ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Most runs, most wickets after final, SA vs IND

India won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 after defeating South Africa in the final by seven runs.
Star batter Virat Kohli played the most crucial innings at the right time as he struck a fighting fifty, which helped India post 176/7 against South Africa in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 final in Barbados on June 29.
Indian opener Virat Kohli smashed 76 runs off 59 deliveries, which was his first in the T20 World Cup 2024. He was truly supported by all-rounder Axar Patel, who scored a 31-ball 47, which helped the Men in Blue overcome the loss of skipper Rohit Sharma (9), Rishabh Pant (0), and Suryakumar Yadav (3).
Kohli and Axar stitched a crucial stand of 72 runs, whereas hard-hitter Shivam Dube provided a late steam with 27 runs, which helped India post 176. For South Africa, left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj bagged two crucial wickets of Rohit and Pant.
While chasing 172, South Africa lost opener Reeza Hendricks (4) and skipper Aiden Markram (4) inside the first six overs as they reached 42/2. Wicket-keeper batter Quinton de Kock (39) and Tristan Stubbs (31) stitched 58 runs as they reached 101/3 after the end of first 12 overs.
However, hard-hitter Heinrich Klaasen played the crucial knock of 52 runs before India vice-captain Hardik Pandya removed him. In the 20th over of the match, Suryakumar Yadav took a mind-blowing catch of David Miller at the boundary line, which helped India seal the game. At the end India won the game by seven runs.
With this victory, Rohit Sharma became the second Indian skipper after legendary captain MS Dhoni to clinch the ICC T20 title.
Most runs in ICC T20 World Cup 2024:
Afghanistan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz ended up as the highest run-getter of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, with 281 runs to his name in 8 matches. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma finished second with 257 runs to his name.
Australian opener Travis Head ended his phenomenal T20 World Cup 2024 campaign with 255 runs. He ended up in the third position. With 243 runs to his name, South African veteran player Quinton de Kock finished fourth.
Afghanistan batter Ibrahim Zadran finished at fifth with 231 runs to his name in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Most wickets in ICC T20 World Cup 2024:
Afghanistan’s left-arm pacer, Fazalhaq Farooqi, ended up as the joint-highest wicket-taker of the T20 World Cup 2024. The seamer bagged 17 wickets in eight games.
Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh had a dream tournament with the ball as he bagged 17 scalps and finished as the joint-highest wicket-taker. Arshdeep became the highest wicket-taker for India in the single edition of the T20 World Cup.
Arshdeep’s teammate Jasprit Bumrah ended his stunning campaign with 15 wickets to his name in nine games. Bumrah finished third in the bowling charts at 2024 T20 World Cup.
South African pacer Anrich Nortje finished fourth with 15 wickets. Afghanistan’s wily leg-spinner Rashid Khan ended up at fifth place with 14 wickets to his name.
