ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Points table, most runs & most wickets after match 30, USA vs IRE

USA qualified for the Super 8 round of ICC T20 World Cup 2024 after rain washed out Ireland clash.

It was a sad ending for cricket fans as the crucial match between co-hosts United States of America (USA) and Ireland was abandoned due to rain and wet outfield at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida, on June 14 at the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

With the match being called off due to rain, both the Monank Patel-led USA and the Paul Stirling-led Irish side shared one point each. The United States became the second team from Group A after Rohit Sharma-led India to qualify for the Super 8 stage at the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.

ICC T20 World Cup 2024: All Groups Points Table

1. Group A

After the USA vs IRE match got washed out due to rain, the co-hosts, the USA, became the second side from Group A after India to reach the next round of the ongoing ICC tournament.

The Monank-led USA ended their group stage campaign with five points. Meanwhile, Ireland earner their maiden point in the group stage. Despite that, they’ve been eliminated from the Super 8 race.

The Rohit Sharma-led Men in Blue have already qualified for the Super 8 stage. They will play their final group-stage match against Canada on June 15. 

After rain washed out the USA vs IRE clash, other two teams from Group A, Pakistan and Canada have been eliminated from Super 8 race. Both teams are left with just one group stage match.

2. Group B

Things are heating up for the second spot to qualify for the Super 8 stage in Group B. 

Australia have already qualified for the Super 8 at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. They have three wins to their name and are placed in the top position. The real fight is between Scotland and the defending champions England. Both are aiming for a second-place finish in Group B.

Currently, Scotland are ranked second with five points and NRR of +2.164. While the English side find themselves at third spot with three points and NRR of +3.081. Namibia and Oman have been eliminated from the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

3. Group C

From Group C, Afghanistan and co-hosts West Indies have qualified for the next round of the ongoing ICC tournament. On the other hand, Uganda and Papua New Guinea are eliminated from the global tournament.

Shockingly, New Zealand, who are one of the most consistent teams in ICC white-ball events, have also been knocked out ahead of the Super 8 stage.

4. Group D

The Aiden Markram-led South Africa became the first team from Group D to book their birth in the next round of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The Proteas find themselves at the No. 1 spot with six points to their name.

Bangladesh are ranked second with four points, whereas the Netherlands are slotted third with two points to their name.

Nepal are at fourth with two points, while the Wanindu Hasaranga-led Sri Lanka are already eliminated from the ongoing marquee tournament.
