ICC T20 World Cup 2024 semi-finals: Schedule, teams, dates, timings and venues

The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 semi-finals will be played on June 26 and 27.
In the last match of the Super 8 round, Afghanistan became the fourth team to seal their place in the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 by defeating Bangladesh by eight runs (DLS method) in a rain-marred contest in St Vincent. This meant that Australia were knocked out of the competition.
After losing to India in their first Super 8 fixture, Afghanistan recorded first-ever victory against Australia. With Australia losing to India as well, Afghanistan needed to defeat Bangladesh to secure a place in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 semi-finals, which they did in a high-intensity contest where rain played a big role.
From Group 1, before Afghanistan, the Rohit Sharma-led India stormed into the semi-finals with their third win in the Super 8. India hammered Australia by 24 runs to confirm their place at top of the Group 1 standings and booked a semi-final clash with England. Both these sides had met in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Adelaide, where England mauled India by 10 wickets.
Defending champions England had twice been on the brink of elimination in this tournament. However, with dominating wins over Oman and Namibia in the group stage and then over West Indies and the USA in the Super 8, Jos Buttler’s side entered the semi-finals.
South Africa topped the Group 2 points table with three wins in as many games, after having won all four matches in the group stage. Although South Africa have won all their games so far, six of those have come in tight contests, which could have gone against them as well. They will meet Afghanistan in semi-final 1.
