ICC T20 World Cup 2024: List of teams who have qualified for the semi-finals

The semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be played on June 26 and 27.
The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is in its final phase with the knockouts on the horizon. The tournament kicked off on June 1 and has entered its last week.
40 matches were played in the group stage, where 20 teams were grouped into four groups of five teams each. From each group, the top two teams advanced into the Super 8 round, where the eight sides were grouped into two groups of four teams each.
The Super 8 round ran from June 19 to June 24. This has been a really exciting Super 8 round because even till the last round of matches in each group, no team had qualified for the semi-finals. It was only in the last four games of the Super 8 that the four semi-finalists were confirmed.
The semi-finals will be played on June 26 in Trinidad and June 27 in Guyana with the final slated for June 29 in Barbados.
ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Teams who have qualified for the semi-finals
England
Defending champions England were the first team which qualified for the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. In both the group stage and the Super 8 round, England were pushed to the brink of eliminated and played must-win games, which they won comprehensively.
Placed in Group 2 of the Super 8 round, England defeated West Indie by eight wickets but went down to South Africa by only seven runs. They hammered the USA by 10 wickets in their Super 8 match to seal their berth in the knockout stage.
South Africa
South Africa continued their unbeaten run in the tournament and entered the semi-finals having won all their seven matches so far. But none of the seven wins came without hiccups. They gave their fans more mini heart-attacks in the virtual quarter-final against West Indies but eventually won it in the last over. Earlier, South Africa defeated the USA by 18 runs and England by 7 runs.
India
India stormed into the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 with a victory over Australia in their last Super 8 game, with captain Rohit Sharma hammering 92 runs off 41 balls. This made it three wins in three Super 8 matches for Rohit Sharma’s side. India and South Africa are the only two unbeaten teams in the tournament so far.
Afghanistan
Afghanistan became the fourth and last team to qualify for the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 after their 8-run (DLS) win over Bangladesh in the last Super 8 match. The Rashid Khan-led side had lost to India in their first Super 8 fixture but bounced back superbly to first beat Australia by 21 runs and then Bangladesh in a thrilling contest.
