Revealed: When ICC T20 World Cup 2026 schedule will get announced

ICC T20 World Cup 2026 will be hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is the next big multi-national tournament that will enthral cricket fans all around the world. A total of 20 teams are going to be part of the tournament, which will take place in February and March next year with India and Sri Lanka being the hosts for the mega event.
India, Pakistan, Netherlands, Namibia, United States, Sri Lanka, Australia, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Oman, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Nepal, Italy, South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan, UAE, and Canada are the 20 teams part of the tournament, which will begin on February 7, 2026 and witness the final on March 8, 2026, as per earlier reports.
All these 20 teams will be divided into four groups of five teams each. Some recent reports claimed that India and Pakistan are going to be part of the same pool (Group 1) and will lock horns with each other on February 15, 2026. The International Cricket Council (ICC) have finalised the schedule for the tournament and will make an official announcement in the coming days.
ICC T20 World Cup 2026 schedule to be announced on November 25

ICC have confirmed that they will formally announce the complete schedule for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 on November 25 (Tuesday) in collaboration with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The schedule will be announced at 6:30 PM onwards and will be attended by ICC chairman Jay Shah. The announcement will be telecast live on Star Sports Network and Jio Hotstar app in India.
As per reports, a total of eight venues have been shortlisted for ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Out of these, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi and Ahmedabad are the five cities that will host the matches in India. Kandy and two international grounds in Colombo are the three venues shortlisted in Sri Lanka.
Moreover, Pakistan will play all of their games in Sri Lanka. If they advance to the semis or final, then those games will also be rescheduled to Colombo. Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium is expected to host the final. Meanwhile, India are the defending champion of the tournament as they crushed South Africa in the previous edition in 2024.
