ICC U19 World Cup 2024: Most runs, most wickets after final, IND vs AUS

Australia defeated India by 79 runs in the final to win ICC U19 World Cup 2024.
Australia have continued their dominance in the ICC event finals against India. Australia U19 side defeated India U19 by a big margin of 79 runs in the final of ICC U19 World Cup 2024 at Willowmoore Park, Benoni. Australia have won their fourth ICC U19 World Cup title. This is the first time Australia have defeated India in the ICC U19 World Cup finals. Australia had lost to India in the previous two times they met in an ICC U19 World Cup final – in 2012 and 2018.
Talking about the match, Australia won the toss and elected to bat first in the big final. Batting first, Australia posted 253 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs, which is the highest total by a team in the ICC U19 World Cup final. Indian-origin batter Harjas Singh was the highest scorer for Australia with 55 runs in the final. Australia kept adding partnerships at regular intervals. India failed in their chase and they were bundled out for 174. India lost the first six wickets under 100 in their chase.
Mahli Beardman, who picked 3 wickets in the game, was awarded ‘Man of the Match’ award for his stunning performance with the ball. Raf MacMillan also chipped in with three wickets in the game while Callum Vidler scalped two wickets and Charlie Anderson and Tom Straker contributed with one apiece.
ICC U19 World Cup 2024: Most Runs
India U19 skipper Uday Saharan scored 397 runs in the ICC U19 World Cup 2024 and finished as the leading run-scorer of the tournament. Uday smashed a century against Nepal U19. Uday also played a match-winning knock against South Africa in the semi-finals. He smashed three fifties and one century in the tournament. Indian top-order batter Musheer Khan is at second spot in the list with 360 runs in seven innings. He became second Indian U19 batsman after Shikhar Dhawan to hit two centuries in a ICC U19 World Cup tournament.
Australian opener Harry Dixon ended as third-highest run-scorer of the tournament with 309 runs to his name. Dixon scored 42 runs against India in the final of the tournament. Next on the list is Australia U19 skipper Hugh Weibgen, who scored 304 runs in the tournament including 48 runs in the final against India. Indian middle-order batter Sachin Dhas finished as fifth highest run-scorer of the tournament with 297 runs in seven games.

South African pacer Kwena Maphaka has become a rising star with consistent performances. Maphaka impressed everyone with his pace and attitude in the entire tournament. Maphaka ended up as the highest wicket-taker in the ICC U19 World Cup 2024. He picked up 21 wickets in six matches. Maphaka picked up three five-wicket hauls in the tournament. Indian left-arm spinner Saumya Pandey finished as second highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 18 wickets to his name. Pandey managed to pick only one wicket in the final against Australia.
Pakistan pacer Ubaid Shah finished at third spot with 18 wickets to his name. Ubaid picked a five-wicket haul against Bangladesh in the Super Six round. England leg-spinner Tazeem Ali is fourth in the list with 14 wickets to his name in just four games. Tazeem Ali picked a 7-wicket haul against Zimbabwe in the Super Six round. Australian pacer Callum Vidler finished as fifth highest wicket-taker with 13 scalps to his name in six games.
