ICC unveils new stadium in New York, set to host India vs Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2024

New York stadium to host ICC T20 World Cup matches including India vs Pakistan.

International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled their newest cricket stadium in Nassau County in New York, USA. This stadium will host the high voltage game between India and Pakistan on 9th June. The 34,000 capacity stadium’s work is still in progress and it is likely to be ready in next three months. New York will be hosting eight matches of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.

This stadium is likely to feature many seating options for the fans. There will be general seating capacity along with premium suits, VIP hospitality suits in the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. This stadium will mark its debut in international cricket with Sri Lanka and South Africa taking on each other on 3rd June.

ICC unveils new stadium in New York

The design team working behind Nassau County International Cricket Ground is renowned one. They have already created a few architectural marvel such as Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad and also Tottenham Hotspur’s home stadium in London. They had also worked for New York Yankees and Jets in USA.

ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice said, “We are excited to be unveiling the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. It is an incredibly important milestone in the lead up to the biggest ICC event ever, with work commencing on the stadium which will be able to accommodate 34,000 cricket fans”

Drop in pitches are likely to be used for the game in Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. This ground is situated 30 miles east of Manhattan, New York. The T20 World Cup 2024 will begin on 1st June with USA taking on Canada in Texas. Along with New York, Texas and Florida are the two other venues in USA to host the T20 World Cup.
