Match 20 of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, IND vs ENG, took place at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.

England Women Cricket Team crushed India Women Cricket Team in match No. 20 of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 on Sunday, October 19. The nail-biting encounter took place at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore.

Opting to bat first, England Women piled up a huge total of 288/8. Amy Jones scored a half-century to provide a strong start to the innings, etching a 73-run stand with opening partner Tammy Beaumont. Later, Heather Knight followed up with a century, smacking 109 runs. For India Women, Deepti Sharma was pick of the bowlers with a four-wicket haul.

During the chase, Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur hammered half-centuries and kept the winning hopes alive. Deepti Sharma slammed a half-century towards the end, however, she lost her wicket at a crucial moment in the 47th over.

In the last three overs, India Women looked favourites to win as they needed just 27 runs off 18 balls. However, they failed to clear boundaries in the last three overs and finished at 284/6, losing the clash by just four runs.

With their victory in the match, England Women have moved to second spot in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 points table with nine points. They have become the third team after Australia and South Africa to qualify for semi-finals of the tournament. On the other hand, India Women hold the fourth spot in the points table following their defeat in the clash with four points across five games.

Australia Women enjoy the peak position in the points table, while South Africa Women occupy the third spot. New Zealand Women and Bangladesh Women follow India at the fifth and sixth spots respectively. Sri Lanka Women and Pakistan Women languish at bottom of the points table with two points each.

Australia captain Alyssa Healy continues to be the leading run-scorer of ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 with 294 runs, followed by New Zealand’s Sophie Devine with 260 runs. England’s Heather Knight, who slammed a hundred in the game, comes next with 235 runs. Indian opener Smriti Mandhana is next on the list with 222 runs to her name. England Women captain Nat Sciver-Brunt rounds off the list of top five with 191 runs.
