ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 warm-up matches schedule announced

All teams except Australia will feature in two ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 warm-up matches.

The International Cricket Council (ICC), on Tuesday, July 15, unveiled the schedule of warm-up matches for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. The tournament is scheduled to be played in India and Sri Lanka from September to November.

Eight teams are part of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. They are India Women, Sri Lanka Women, Australia Women, New Zealand Women, Bangladesh Women, Pakistan Women, England Women, and South Africa Women.

The tournament will commence on September 30 with the opening clash between hosts India women and Sri Lanka women. The final will take place on November 2. All eight teams will play warm-up matches ahead of the tournament.

The warm-up matches will be played from September 25 to 28. Four venues will host the warm-up games. They are the Centre of Excellence Ground, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, R. Premadasa Stadium, and Colombo Cricket Club Ground.

Apart from the eight participating teams, India ‘A’ and Sri Lanka ‘A’ will also be part of the warm-up matches. While India ‘A’ will play one warm-up match, Sri Lanka ‘A’ will play two. Among the participants of the tournament, all eight teams barring Australia will play two warm-up matches, while Australia will play only one.

Sept 25: Bangladesh v Sri Lanka ‘A’, R.Premadasa, Colombo, 3 PM

Sept 27: Australia v England, BCCI Centre of Excellence 1 Ground, Bengaluru, 3 PM

Sept 27: India v New Zealand, M. Chinnaswamy, Bengaluru, 3 PM

Sept 27: Sri Lanka v Bangladesh, Colombo Cricket Club, Colombo, 3 PM

Sept 28: South Africa v India ‘A’, BCCI Centre of Excellence 1 Ground, Bengaluru, 3 PM

Sept 28: Pakistan v Sri Lanka ‘A’, Colombo Cricket Club, Colombo, 3 PM

Meanwhile, Australia women will enter the tournament as defending champions having won the last edition in 2022, defeating England women by 71 runs in the final.
