ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 Points Table after 2nd test, England vs West Indies 2024

England thrashed West Indies in the second test to register their fifth win in the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle.

After a thumping performance in the first of three tests at the Lord’s, England continued their dominance in the second test as well. They thrashed the West Indies by a massive margin of 241 runs to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. Despite some fight from West Indies in the first innings, they couldn’t repeat it in the second.

England registered scores of 416 and 425 runs in two innings, and West Indies only managed 457 and 143 runs. For England, Ollie Pope scored 124 and 51 in two innings and won the Player of the Match award. Ben Duckett also gave the team good starts with 71 and 76 in two innings.

Joe Root registered his 32nd test ton and made 122, while Harry Brook scored an exciting 109 off 132. Shoaib Bashir took 5/41 in the second innings to wrap up things as England registered their fifth win in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship 2023–25 cycle.

It was the fifth win for England in their 12th test of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship 2023–25. Following the win, they are placed sixth in the standings with PCT of 31.25. Meanwhile, West Indies, who suffered their fifth defeat out of six matches, are at the bottom of the table with PCT of 22.22.

India are at the top of the table as they have won six out of nine games and have PCT of 68.51. Australia are behind them in second place with 8 wins and 62.50 PCT. Australia have played 12 matches and lost three, and one ended in a draw. New Zealand and Sri Lanka are placed third and fourth with 50 PCT each.

With two wins and three defeats, Pakistan are placed fifth in the ICC World Test Championship 2023–25 table with PCT of 36.66. South Africa and Bangladesh have played four matches each and have one win and lost three games. With PCT of 25 each, South Africa and Bangladesh are placed seventh and eighth in the ICC World Test Championship 2023–25 table respectively.
