Australia have climbed one position up in the latest update of ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 points table.

Alex Carey’s magnificent 98-run knock in the second innings helped Australia win the second test match against New Zealand at Hagley Oval in Christchurch. Carey’s innings was vital for Australia to chase down a big target of 279 runs. With this win, Australia have whitewashed New Zealand and retained the Trans-Tasman Trophy. Australia won the game by mere three wickets.

New Zealand pacer Ben Sears bowled a magnificent spell of 4/90 in the second innings, but that was not enough for his side to win a historic test against Australia. All-rounder Mitchell Marsh (80) and Alex Carey (98) played massive role in Australia’s win. Australia thrashed New Zealand at Basin Reserve in Wellington in the first test of the series as well.
