Bangladesh are placed fourth in the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 points table.

Bangladesh created history on Tuesday, 3rd September as they registered their first ever test series win over Pakistan. In the first of the two-match test series, Bangladesh had registered their first ever test win over the Asian rivals.

Riding back on Liton Das’ fighting 138-run knock in the first innings, Bangladesh captured the win by six wickets on day 5 of the game, chasing a 185-run target.

Earlier in the game, Pakistan made 274 in the first innings with help of knocks from skipper Shan Masood (57) and Agha Salman (54). For the visitors, Mehidy Hasan Miraz picked five wickets, whereas Taskin Ahmed chipped in with three scalps.

In reply, Bangladesh were reeling at 26/6 at one stage, but wicket-keeper batter Liton Das (138) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (78) helped the visitors reach 262 runs in their first innings and reduce the inning deficit to just 12 runs.

However, Pakistan managed to score only 172 runs in their second innings, setting a target of 185 runs for the visitors to win their first ever test series on Pakistan soil.

While chasing, Bangladesh opener Zakir Hasan played a quick-fire knock of 40 runs, whereas skipper Najmul Hasan Shanto and Mominul Haque also chipped in valuable runs with the bat, which helped visitors win the second test in Rawalpindi by six wickets.
