ICC World Test Championship 2025-27: Updated points table after 2nd test, IND vs SA 2025

South Africa beat India by 2-0 in their second series of ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27.
The South Africa Cricket Team completed a 2-0 whitewash in the two-match series against the Indian Cricket Team. After winning the first game by 30 runs, they won the second game by 408 runs in Guwahati to bag important ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 points.
South Africa won the toss for the second consecutive time in the series and opted to bat. They had a dominating performance right from the start with Aiden Markram (38) and Ryan Rickelton (35) adding 82 runs for the opening stand.
Tristan Stubbs (49), who was promoted to three, played a decent hand. Temba Bavuma (41) also contributed but the real hero of the innings was Senuran Muthusamy (109). He slammed his maiden test ton. Along with him, Marco Jansen (93) also played a great hand as South Africa posted 489 in the first innings.
India had a terrible batting collapse despite Yashasvi Jaiswal (58) slamming a fifty. Indian wickets fell like a pack of cards. Washington Sundar (48) played a decent hand down the order but that wasn’t enough as India got all out for 201.
With a lead of 288, South Africa batted again and had another fifty-plus opening partnership with Aiden Markram (29) and Ryan Rickelton (35) playing vital hands. Tristan Stubbs (94) played one of his best innings as the Proteas declared their innings at 260 for five, setting a target of 549.
India lost five wickets for just 58 runs in the chase with the big names back in the hut. Sai Sudharsan showed some grit, playing 139 balls but his fight was ended by Senuran Muthusamy. Ravindra Jadeja (54) kept fighting hard but he didn’t get much support from the other end. Simon Harmer bagged a six-for as India got all out for 140, losing the game by 408 runs.

After the second IND vs SA test, Australia retained the top spot followed by South Africa at two with PCT of 75%. Sri Lanka are at the three followed by Pakistan at fourth. India dropped to fifth, while England are sixth. Bangladesh are seventh, while the other teams are yet to register wins.
