ICC World Test Championship 2025-27: Updated points table after 2nd test, WI vs AUS 2025

Australia are at the top of ICC World Test Championship points table 2025-27 with two wins in two games.

The Australian cricket Team completed a brilliant series victory against the West Indies Cricket Team, taking an unassailable lead of 2-0. Not only did they win the first two games of the series, but they also gained important points in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27. 

Australia opted to bat first, and they didn’t have a great start. The top and middle order failed to score runs again as the West Indies reduced them to 93 for four. However, Beau Webster (60) and Alex Carey (63) joined hands to bail the team out of trouble, adding 112 runs together. Their partnership powered the team to 286 runs. 

West Indies also had a similar kind of outing with the bat, but they failed to go past Australia’s total, managing 253 runs. Brandon King was the top run-getter for his team with his knock of 75 runs. For Australia, every bowler was amongst the wickets. 

With a slender lead, Australia had a decent outing with the bat in the second innings. Steve Smith (71) and Cameron Green (52) slammed fifties to put pressure on the opposition. Travis Head (39) and Alex Carey (30) also chipped in as Australia posted a total of 243 runs, setting a target of 277 runs for the hosts. 

West Indies looked torrid with the bat in the second innings as none of the batters slammed a fifty. Australian pacers were right on the money as they bundled out the opposition for 143 runs to win the game by 133 runs.

After the WI vs AUS second test, the ICC WTC 2025-27 didn’t see much change. Australia retained the top spot with two wins in two games. Sri Lanka and India are next, followed by England, Bangladesh and the West Indies.
