ICC World Test Championship 2025-27: Updated points table after 3rd test, NZ vs WI

New Zealand defeated West Indies by 323 runs in third NZ vs WI test to jump to second spot in ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 points table.

New Zealand Cricket Team crushed West Indies by 323 runs in the third and final test of the three-match series on Monday, December 22. With the victory, they have moved to the second spot in the updated ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 points table.

The NZ vs WI 3rd test took place at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui. New Zealand piled up 575/8d in the first innings with marvellous centuries by their openers Tom Latham (137) and Devon Conway (227). With a century by Kavem Hodge (123*), the West Indies were bowled out for 420 runs.

In the second innings, New Zealand openers rocked with the bat once again, smacking centuries and driving the team’s scoreboard to 306/2d. They set a mammoth target of 462 runs for the visitors. West Indies succumbed to the pressure, getting bowled out for just 138 runs in the second innings, with Kiwi pacer Jacob Duffy clinching a five-wicket haul. The BlackCaps also won the three-match series 2-0.

Following the victory, New Zealand have jumped to the second spot in the ICC WTC 2025-27 points table with a win percentage (PCT) of 77.78. Out of three games, they have won two matches, while one ended in a draw. West Indies remain at the last spot with a win percentage of 4.17, losing seven games out of eight (one draw).

Australia continue to hold the top position in the points table with a PCT of 100.0, while South Africa takes the third spot with a PCT of 75.0. Sri Lanka and Pakistan clinch the fourth and fifth spots respectively, followed by India and England in the sixth and seventh places. Bangladesh languish at the eighth place, failing to win any games in ICC WTC 2025-27 so far.
