The fourth ENG vs IND test, which was part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27, ended in a draw.
The England Cricket Team and the Indian Cricket Team produced another brilliant game in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27. The fourth test of the five-match series between the teams took place at Old Trafford in Manchester.
England dominated the game for the majority of the time and looked favourites to seal the match, but India came up with a massive effort in last two days to save the game. After being asked to bat first, India had a decent outing with the bat despite the conditions being tough to bat. Yashasvi Jaiswal (58) and Sai Sudharsan (61) slammed fifties at the top.
Before Rishabh Pant (54), with a broken toe, slammed a gritty fifty. Contributions from KL Rahul (46), Shardul Thakur (41) and Washington Sundar (27) powered India to 358. For England, Ben Stokes took a fifer.
England then returned with a gigantic batting performance. Openers Zak Crawley (84) and Ben Duckett (94) provided their team with a brutal start, adding 166 runs for the opening partnership.
After that, Ollie Pope (71) also came up with the staggering half-century before Joe Root (150) stole the limelight with his brilliant ton. Skipper Ben Stokes (141) matched him and hit his 14th ton in the longest format of the game as England posted a massive total of 669, taking a lead of 311 runs.
India then had a torrid start to their innings as they lost Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan in the first over. However, after that, KL Rahul (90) and Shubman Gill (103) led the fightback for India and brought them back in the game, adding 188 runs for the third wicket.
Following that, Ravindra Jadeja (107*) and Washington Sundar (101*) oozed their class with the bat and ensured that India took a lead in the second innings, which at one stage looked very difficult.
Both the batters slammed brilliant centuries and made sure that India ended the game in a draw.
