India will be captained by Suryakumar Yadav in the Asia Cup 2025.

Asia Cup 2025 is around the corner, and it will see eight teams fighting for the title. The tournament will begin on 9th September, and the final is scheduled to be played on 28th September, with all games to be played in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The Indian Cricket Team will be one of the hot favourites to lift the title. They have been performing well in the white-ball cricket for the last few years and with youngsters expected to be there in the team, they are likely to continue playing the fearless brand of cricket.

The Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2025 is expected to be announced on 19th August. Since the last few days, a lot of reports have been circulating related to the team, and if they are to be believed, some of the big names might miss out from the squad. The Indian T20I setup has been completely different over the last few years.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been giving opportunities to youngsters. After the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, the template changed, and under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, the Men in Blue have done some incredible things.

3 in-form Indian cricketers who might not get selected for the Asia Cup 2025

As everyone waits for the Indian squad, we take a look at 3 in-form Indian cricketers who might not get selected for the Asia Cup 2025

1. Shubman Gill

One of the big players who is in form and might not play the Asia Cup 2025 is Shubman Gill. Since the Indian test captain hasn’t been in the scheme of things in T20I for a while, it would be tough for the management to include him in the team out of nowhere. Also, with Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav doing well in the format, it would be unfair to sideline one of them to adjust Gill as they hardly have put a foot wrong in the T20Is.

Gill has been in sensational form. In the recent test series against England, the right-hander slammed 754 runs along with four centuries. Even in the Indian Premier League (IPL), he has been scoring runs consistently, with his last three seasons being the best.

2. Yashasvi Jaiswal

Another in-form Indian cricketer who is likely not to play Asia Cup 2025 is Yashasvi Jaiswal. The opening batter has almost done everything right in his short career so far. Be it in T20Is or tests, he has been scoring runs consistently. In the recent England series, he had a great time, slamming 411 runs.

The only reason that he might miss Asia Cup 2025 is the emergence of Abhishek Sharma at the top. The Punjab batter is the No. 1-ranked T20I batter and has proved his worth. Also, there have been reports that team management isn’t keen to change their core, and Jaiswal has been asked to focus on red-ball cricket.

3) Mohammed Siraj

Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj might be rested for Asia Cup 2025, and this makes him the third in-form player who might miss the tournament. The pacer bowled over 185 overs in the test series against England and was in terrific form, taking 23 wickets across the five games that he played.

Siraj also hasn’t been in the frame of things for T20Is. With Arshdeep Singh, along with Jasprit Bumrah and others, being the frontline pacers, the chances of him getting picked are very low. Also, he hasn’t been as great as he would’ve wanted in the T20Is.
