Virat Kohli had got out for an eight-ball duck in the first ODI in Perth.

Indian batting legend Virat Kohli failed to come up with a good batting show once again in the ongoing ODI series against Australian Cricket Team, getting out for a duck in the second ODI. The encounter, underway at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide, is a must-win game for Indian Cricket Team to keep their chances of series victory alive.

Kohli was also dismissed for a duck in the first ODI in Perth, however, the match was affected by rain, and all Indian batters struggled to score runs in the clash. The right-handed batsman was expected to make a comeback in the second ODI, however, his batting woes continued to haunt him once again.

Talking about the game in Adelaide, Australia captain Mitchell Marsh won the toss and opted to bowl first in the clash. In the seventh over, the visitors faced a big blow by losing captain Shubman Gill for just nine runs as he became a victim of pacer Xavier Bartlett. In the same over, the Bartlett dismissed Kohli to claim two back-to-back wickets and give a big blow to India’s batting at the start.

Beating Kohli in his first three deliveries, Bartlett bowled a good length delivery in the middle of the stumps. As the Indian batter tried to flick, he missed the ball completely and it hit his pads. Umpire Sam Nogajski showed no hesitation in lifting his finger, and Australian players celebrated Kohli’s dismissal. The latter did not appeal for a review and walked back to the dressing room, failing to score any runs for the second consecutive time in the series.

With Iyer, he etched a partnership of 118 runs for the third wicket, driving the scoreboard to 135/3 in the 30th over.
