India then didn’t take long to pull things back as Afghanistan wickets fell like a pack of cards and they lost six wickets for just 100. But vital contributions from Darwish Rasooli (26), Mohammad Nabi (20) and Rashid Khan (28) ensured that Afghanistan went past 150 runs as they posted 159 for eight. For India, Nitish Kumar Reddy picked three wickets.
In the chase, Indian openers Abhishek Sharma (39) and Sanju Samson (57) were on the rampage right from the start. Both the batters hit bowlers all over the park, adding 88 runs for the opening partnership in just inside seven overs.
While Abhishek failed to hit a half-century, Samson replied to critics in style, hitting a brutal half-century. Ishan Kishan (38*) continued his golden form as he played yet another important innings. Thanks to the contribution from the top order, India chased the target inside 15 overs.
