The IND vs AFG one-off test will begin on June 6.
While India are one of the oldest and most dominant teams in Test cricket, Afghanistan are making a name for themselves in the longest format.
India’s superiority in home Test matches is well known. With the spin-friendly conditions, India overpower big teams like Australia and England at home. It takes a lot of hard work to defeat India in a home Test series, and only a few teams have achieved this triumph in the past.
India qualified for the finals of the first two editions of the ICC World Test Championship, but ended as runners-up in both. They lost the final of WTC 2021 to New Zealand and WTC 2023 to Australia.
On the other hand, Afghanistan have not yet secured a place in the World Test Championship. They have played a handful of test matches. Afghanistan played their first-ever test against India in 2018. So far, they have won only one test match against Zimbabwe in March 2021.
