As expected, the 2nd ODI between India and Afghanistan ended as an easy win for the hosts. The visiting team never looked in the contest and suffered their second-biggest ODI defeat, losing by 170 runs.
The game began with Afghanistan winning the toss and putting India to bat first. India made three changes, giving the debut cap to Prince Yadav. Yashasvi Jaiswal also got a chance to play, but he could not score many runs and was dismissed for 4. Rohit Sharma looked good for his 48 off 39 balls.
But it was followed by a record stand for the third wicket between Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan. The duo added 224 runs for the third wicket and scored a century each. Ishan scored 125 off 79 balls, while Gill ended up scoring 154 off 110 balls.
India finished with a massive total of 402 all out in 49.5 overs. It was never going to be easy, and Afghanistan didn’t have any good partnerships.
Rahmat Shah was the top scorer with 79 off 89 balls. Afghanistan got all out for 232 runs, with Arshdeep Singh and Gurnoor Brar picking up three wickets each.
