IND vs AFG: Most runs & wickets after 3rd ODI

IND vs AFG 3rd ODI took place at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The Indian Cricket Team crushed Afghanistan in the 3rd ODI of the three-match series on Saturday, June 20, to complete a magnificent whitewash. Opting to bat first, Afghanistan lost their openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz (5) and Ibrahim Zadran (11) cheaply before losing two more wickets quickly to see themselves tottering at 36 for four.

Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi (102)came to rescue and led from the front, hammering a sensational century. Azmatullah Omarzai (50) supported him brilliantly and scored a half-century but the visitors could not bat for the entire 50 overs. They were bowled out for 218 in the 45th over. Prasidh Krishna, who replaced Arshdeep Singh in the XI, clinched a five-wicket haul.

In the chase, Afghanistan bowlers had no answers to the carnage by Indian batters. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (110*) hit a century while veteran Rohit Sharma (79) hammered a half-century to take their team to victory in just 28.4 overs. They etched an opening stand of 170 runs. Shreyas Iyer (20*) also played a decent hand as India completed a brilliant nine-wicket win.
