The third IND vs AUS test is scheduled to start on Saturday, December 14, in Brisbane.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 hangs in the balance after the first two tests at 1-1. India started the five-match series with a thumping 295-run win in Perth but Australia roared back in the second test with a 10-wicket victory in Adelaide.

Both teams have areas to improve upon before the third test kicks off on December 14 in Brisbane. While the Indian fast bowlers have been more than impressive for the major part of the two tests, the batting lineup has faltered in three out of four innings.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is currently the leading run scorer for the visitors, but even he has struggled for consistency, scoring two ducks in four outings. Virat Kohli has fared similarly, scoring a ton around three low scores.

Meanwhile, the story for Australia is not too different either. The hosts will expect more contributions from their batting lineup to avoid over-reliance on Travis Head, who has been spectacular so far.

As the action shifts to Brisbane, memories of the last clash between these two teams at the Gabba come rushing. That unforgettable game in January 2021 saw India pull off one of the greatest test victories, chasing down 328 on a fifth-day surface to end Australia’s 32-year unbeaten streak at the venue.

On that note let’s take a look at how the weather forecast for day 1 of the third IND vs AUS test.
