Only 13.2 overs were bowled on day 1 of the IND vs AUS Gabba test due to rain.
The ongoing third Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 test in Brisbane got underway at its scheduled time on Saturday morning after Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, won the toss and elected to bowl first. However, only 13.2 overs of play was possible because of persistent rain.
India made two changes to their playing XI from the loss in Adelaide. Harshit Rana and R Ashwin were replaced by Akash Deep and Ravindra Jadeja. Australia had one change in their line-up, with Josh Hazlewood returning from a side strain and replacing Scott Boland.
The first shower of the morning arrived in the sixth over of Australia’s innings and stopped play for 30 minutes. About 50 minutes later, a heavy shower came, forcing another interruption in play.
Rain remained relentless for the next few hours and eventually play was called off for the day.
