IND vs AUS: Day 3 session timings for Sydney test, BGT 2024-25

India lead by 145 runs at the end of day 2 of the IND vs AUS fifth test in Sydney.

The second day of the fifth Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 test in Sydney saw India make a comeback, thanks to a strong display from the fast bowlers and then a quickfire fifty from Rishabh Pant.

Resuming their innings at 9/1, Australia suffered a top-order collapse, falling to 39/4. Steve Smith and debutant Beau Webster then added 57 runs, helping Australia reach 181. Webster top-scored for the hosts with 57 runs, hitting his maiden test half-century. Siraj and Krishna bagged three wickets each.

Having a narrow four-run lead, India started strong with Yashasvi Jaiswal hitting four boundaries in the first over off Mitchell Starc. However, the hosts struck regularly, with Scott Boland keeping Australia in the game by taking 4/42.

The most exciting passage of play came when Rishabh Pant was at the crease. The left-hander smashed 61 off 33 balls, including six fours and four sixes, to help India extend their lead to over 100 runs.

At stumps on day 2 at the SCG, India are 141/6, leading by 145 runs. Ravindra Jadeja (8*) and Washington Sundar (6*) are at the crease for the visitors.
