India trail by 394 runs in the first innings with six wickets in hand in the third IND vs AUS test.
Australia strengthened their upper hand on the third Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 test at the Gabba on day 3, effectively ending India’s chances of a victory. However, Australia’s chances of forcing a win also took a dive today as rain made a significant impact for the third day in a row.
Only 33.1 overs of play was possible on Monday in Brisbane. Day 3 was a stop-start day due to frequent rain interruptions. But in whatever play happened, Australia tightened their grip on the game.
First, they added 40 runs for their last three wickets to their overnight total, with Alex Carey finishing on 70. Australia ended their first innings on 445.
Then, their bowlers made full use of the overcast conditions to dismiss four Indian batters. Starc got Jaiswal and Gill before Hazlewood dismissed Kohli. Rishabh Pant was then nipped out by Cummins.
At stumps on day 3, India are 51/4, trailing by 394 runs. India need 195 more runs to avoid follow on.
