Mohammed Siraj swapped bails to get some luck and Labuschagne then reversed it.

India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj was in the thick of the action not with the ball once again as he was involved in a hilarious bail-swap exchange with Marnus Labuschagne on day 2 of the third BGT 2024-25 test match at the Gabba.

Only 13.2 overs of play was possible on day 1 due to persistent rain. Day 2 began at its scheduled time and it was a gripping first session as India claimed three wickets, until the time of writing to bring Travis Head and Steve Smith together at the crease.

The session also brought some entertainment involving Siraj and Labuschagne, and as expected the crowd got into their antics too.

Siraj, who was booed on day 1, also copped some boos on day 2 at the Gabba. He further riled up the Australian crowd by swapping the bails.

In the 33rd over of Australia’s innings, as he was walking back to his bowling mark after delivering a ball, Siraj and Marnus muttered some words to each other. Then the bowler swapped the bails at the non-striker’s end, an antic that was started by Stuart Broad in the Ashes 2023 as a form of bringing some luck towards the bowler’s way.

After Siraj did his activity, Labuschagne re-swapped the bails that the bowler didn’t notice. The Australian fans cheered for Marnus.

Meanwhile, India were handed a major worry as Siraj walked off the field while clutching his hamstring.

Jasprit Bumrah continued on his superb form and dismissed both Australian openers before Nitish Reddy got rid of Labuschange. At the time of writing, Australia are 83/3.
