The first IND vs AUS ODI will be played on October 19 at Perth Cricket Stadium in Perth.
The countdown for the ODI series between Indian Cricket Team and Australia Cricket Team has begun. The series opener will be played at Perth Cricket Stadium in Perth on Sunday, October 19. The next two games will be played on October 23 in Adelaide and October 25 in Sydney.
The series will also mark a transition in the Indian ODI team with Shubman Gill taking the reins of the side from Rohit Sharma. Gill has proved his mettle as leader in test cricket in recent times and will aim for a similar stint in the 50-over format going forward.
The India vs Australia ODI series will also mark the return of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the Indian team, having last featured for the national side during ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in March. Shreyas Iyer, who has been named as the new vice-captain of the 50-over side, will also make a comeback in the national jersey following his last appearance in ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final vs New Zealand on March 9.
India will miss the services of senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah in the ODI series as the right-arm pacer has been rested for the campaign. In his absence, senior pacer Mohammed Siraj will lead India’s pace department, with the assistance of Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, and Prasidh Krishna.
Speaking about Australia, the hosts will be without their captain Pat Cummins, who is battling a back injury. Mitchell Marsh will lead the side in his absence. Mitchell Starc will make his return to ODI cricket following his last game in November 2024.
Australia will miss the services of key spinner Adam Zampa as he has opted out of the opening game due to personal reasons. The right-arm spinner will return for the next two games. Josh Inglis is also set to miss the Perth ODI due to a calf injury and has been replaced by Josh Phillippe.
