The second IND vs AUS T20I took place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne on October 31.

The second T20I between Indian Cricket Team and Australian Cricket Team took place on Friday, October 31 at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne. The Mitchell Marsh & Co. crushed India by four wickets to gain a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.

Australia captain Mitchell Marsh won the toss and chose to bowl first in the encounter. Pacers Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Ellis gave big blows to India at the start, dismissing four batters in the powerplay. Shubman Gill (5), Suryakumar Yadav (1), Sanju Samson (2), and Tilak Varma (0) lost their wickets for single digits, as the Men in Blue struggled at 40/4 after the first six overs.

Opener Abhishek Sharma (68) led India’s fightback from one end, with Harshit Rana (35) giving him crucial support as the duo etched a 56-run stand for the sixth wicket. However, the visitors couldn’t hold their ground for long, getting bowled out for just 125 runs in the 19th over.

In the chase, openers Marsh (46) and Travis Head (28) provided Australia with a superb start, setting up a stand of 51 runs. Reaching 56/1 in the powerplay overs, the hosts completely dominated the Indian bowlers at the start. Australia lost six wickets till the end, however, they eventually managed to win the encounter with ease by four wickets within just 14 overs.

After his half-century in the encounter, Abhishek Sharma is the leading run-scorer in the five-match series with 87 runs, followed by Mitchell Marsh with 46 runs. Shubman Gill (42) and Suryakumar Yadav (40) grab the third and fourth spots respectively. Harshit Rana is next with 35 runs.
