The third IND vs AUS test in Brisbane ended in a draw.
Rain emerged victorious in the much anticipated third test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 in Brisbane. Both teams will now head to Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) with the five-match series level at 1-1.
After being sent to bat first, Australia made the most out of the excellent batting conditions on the first two days. Travis Head and Steve Smith starred for the hosts posting excellent centuries while Jasprit Bumrah was once again India‘s leading wicket-taker with six wickets in the first innings.
In response, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja led India’s reply, scoring half-centuries to propel India to 260 runs and avoid follow-on. Australia, in their second innings, aimed to set a target for India by scoring quick runs on Day 5. However, they declared at 89/7 to set India a target of 275 runs to chase in the fourth innings. India started the chase and then were 8/0 when rain returned to end the day’s play resulting in a draw.
Travis Head was named Player of the Match for his sensational knock of 152 runs in the first innings.
IND vs AUS 2024: Most Runs
On the back of his brilliant hundred in the first innings, Travis Head now leads the run-scorers’ leaderboard with 409 runs. Following him on this list is star Indian opener KL Rahul with 235 runs in the series. Rahul’s opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal follows him on the list with 193 runs after three tests.
Nitish Kumar Reddy’s consistent performances have propelled him to the fourth spot with 179 runs in the series, while Alex Carey rounds the list with 162 runs.

Star Indian speedster, Jasprit Bumrah tops the wicket-takers leaderboard with 21 wickets, thanks to his brilliant six-wicket haul in the first innings of the game. Following him on this list in the second position is Australian speedster Mitchell Starc, with 14 wickets in the series.
Starc’s partner Pat Cummins occupies the third spot with 14 wickets in the series while Mohammed Siraj and Josh Hazlewood round off the list of top five with 13 and six wickets respectively.
