The fifth IND vs AUS T20I at The Gabba, Brisbane on November 8 was washed out due to rain.

The fifth T20I between Indian Cricket Team and Australian Cricket Team at The Gabba, Brisbane on November 8 (Saturday) was washed out due to rain, resulting in a series win for the visitors. In the last game, Australia captain Mitchell Marsh won the toss and opted to bowl first in the encounter, which could only witness 4.5 overs of India’s batting before being hampered by rain.

Shubman Gill (29*) and Abhishek Sharma (23*) looked in great touch with the bat, adding 52 runs for the opening stand before rain played its part. With the fifth T20I getting washed out, Suryakumar Yadav & Co. won the five-match series 2-1. Earlier, the first game in Canberra was washed out due to rain. The Men in Yellow won the second game in Melbourne by four wickets to make a positive start to the campaign.

However, the visitors clinched victories in the third T20I in Hobart by five wickets and the fourth T20I in Gold Coast by 48 runs to gain a 2-1 lead in the series. Australia were aiming for a comeback in the fifth game, however, the weather hampered their chances to evade a series defeat. Indian opener Abhishek Sharma was adjudged Player of the Series.

India openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill eventually finished as the highest run-scorers of the series with 163 runs and 132 runs respectively. Australia’s Tim David is the next batter in the list with 89 runs, followed by his teammates Marcus Stoinis and Mitchell Marsh with 87 runs each.
