Arshdeep Singh has claimed 86 wickets in 55 T20Is.

Having debuted in 2022, Arshdeep Singh has cemented his place not only in India’s first-choice T20I XI but also in the Indian T20I cricketing history. Arshdeep, known for his exceptional skills as a left-arm pacer, has showcased his ability to deliver crucial breakthroughs for his side. His performances have garnered attention as he continues to refine his craft in the T20 format.

During the ongoing series against Bangladesh, Arshdeep stands on the brink of achieving a remarkable feat in his young career.

Arshdeep Singh could become India’s second-highest T20I wicket-taker by the end of the IND vs BAN series

After the first T20I against Bangladesh, Arshdeep finds himself on the verge of overtaking some of India’s legendary bowlers in the T20I wicket-taking charts.

With the help of a three-wicket hall in the first T20I in Gwalior, Arshdeep currently sits with 86 wickets to his name. What is equally remarkable is his impressive bowling average of 18.26.

If he maintains this form, he could soon surpass Jasprit Bumrah, who has taken 89 wickets in 70 T20Is, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has 90 wickets from 87 T20Is.

Currently, Yuzvendra Chahal leads the T20I wickets chart among Indian bowlers with 96 wickets in 80 matches. The fact that all of India’s top five highest T20I wicket-takers are still active makes the future even more exciting for the Men in Blue.

As the team looks to secure the series win against Bangladesh, all eyes will be on Arshdeep to see if he can surpass the modern-day greats. Arshdeep, who currently sits fifth in the highest T20I wicket-taker chart for India, is just behind teammate Hardik Pandya, who has 87 wickets to his name.

India’s next two games are set to take place at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, and Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. It would be exciting to see if there would be any assistance for the fast bowlers. As the series unfolds, the cricketing world will watch closely to see if Arshdeep Singh can achieve this remarkable feat and further elevate his status in Indian cricket.
