The second IND vs BAN test is being played at Green Park in Kanpur.

In a distressing piece of news, a Bangladeshi cricket team fan who is famously known as Tiger Robby was rushed to a hospital from the Green Park stadium in Kanpur while day 1 of the second IND vs BAN test was being played.

The second test match of the ongoing series between India and Bangladesh got underway on Thursday in Kanpur, with Indian captain Rohit Sharma electing to bowl first after winning the toss.

During day 1 of the second IND vs BAN test, the Bangladeshi fan Tiger Robby was taken and hospitalised in the Regency Hospital in Kanpur.

Photos and videos have emerged in which Tiger Robby could be seen sitting on a chair and not looking in good health. He could be seen talking with the policemen and other stadium officials. In a few other pictures, he was lying on a stretcher and being taken to the hospital by the police.

A rumour spread on social media that Tiger Robby was assaulted by some Indian fans inside the stadium after he was caught abusing Indian cricketer Mohammed Siraj when he was fielding near the boundary

However, the Uttar Pradesh police have denied such claims. According to a report in The Daily Star, Tiger Robby had fallen ill and hence he was taken to a hospital.

Day 1 of IND vs BAN second test ends after only 35 overs due to rain

Meanwhile, the fans at Green Park didn’t get their money’s worth on day 1 of the test as stumps were called early due to rain. Only 35 overs of play could happen on Thursday.

“Due to incessant rains, play on Day 1 has been called off in Kanpur,” the BCCI stated.

After inserting Bangladesh, India took two wickets in the first session. Both wickets, those of Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam, were claimed by Akash Deep. In the second session, R Ashwin removed Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto.

At stumps on day 1, Bangladesh are 107/3.
