IND vs BAN T20I series will begin on October 6 in Gwalior.

The second IND vs BAN test match is underway, and the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee has announced India’s 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in October. Suryakumar Yadav will be leading the side with some new faces like Mayank Yadav and Nitish Kumar Reddy getting maiden calls.

Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, and players who are part of the test team have been rested. But, there have been some unlucky players who were not considered for selection. In this article, we will talk about three exclusions from the squad that have shocked the fans.

IND vs BAN: 3 surprising exclusions from India T20I squad

1. Ruturaj Gaikwad

The biggest shocker was the exclusion of Ruturaj Gaikwad from the squad. India have rested Shubman Gill and have picked only one specialist opener in Abhishek Sharma.

That’s where Gaikwad might feel himself unlucky, because he kept scoring runs whenever he got a chance. Gaikwad has done well in domestic cricket as well. But despite all his performances, India have chosen not to pick him in the squad.

2. Avesh Khan

Avesh Khan is someone who has been a regular feature in India’s second-string white-ball side. But, his name is missing from the India squad for IND vs BAN T20I series. The right-arm pacer was part of the Zimbabwe tour, and he took six wickets in three games.

He also had a good stint in the Duleep Trophy 2024-25. But India have gone with other options and picked Mayank Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, and Harshit Rana ahead of him.

3. Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan has gone through many ups and downs in the last year. He lost his place in the team and then was sacked from the central contracts. But, some reports claimed that India might pick him with the BCCI resting Pant for the T20I series against Bangladesh.

Ishan also returned to domestic cricket and did well in First Class (FC) cricket. Despite that, his name is missing from India T20I squad, which indicates that the BCCI wants him to grind more for his place to earn his spot back.
