IND vs BAN: Indian Cricket Team player performance rating in 1st T20I, Gwalior

Varun Chakravarthy and Arshdeep Singh starred with the ball for India in the first IND vs BAN T20I.
Team India continued their winning juggernaut against Bangladesh as Suryakumar Yadav’s team thumped the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side in the first T20I of the three-match IND vs BAN T20I series by seven wickets.
At the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium, Gwalior. India were set a target of 128 runs, which they gunned down with ease in 11.5 overs.
Here, we will see how the Indian players performed in the first IND vs BAN T20I and rate them accordingly.

Abhishek Sharma – 6
Abhishek Sharma would rue an opportunity missed as he was looking in good touch in his 7-ball 16, but got run out. The left-hander blasted a six and two fours before getting involved in a mix-up with Samson.
Sanju Samson (wk) – 7.5
Although he couldn’t post a big score, Sanju Samson did make a mark by scoring 29 runs off 19 balls with six fours. The intent was visible and so was his talent and class in his straight and off drives.
Suryakumar Yadav (c) – 8.5
He came, he smashed, and then he left. Suryakumar batted like only he does. The India captain hammered three eye-catching sixes, including his trademark Supla shot, and two fours in his stay of 14 balls, in which he scored 29 balls runs to put India on the course for victory.
Nitish Reddy – 7
On debut, Nitish Reddy got to both bowl and bat. He delivered two wicketless overs for 17 runs. With the bat, he batted calmly to score 16* off 15 balls.
Hardik Pandya – 8.5
Hardik Pandya was in the mood with the best and displayed ultra-aggressive intent by walloping five fours and two sixes in his breezy knock of 39* (16). He completed the chase with 4, 4, 6 off Taskin Ahmed. With the ball, he returned with figures of 1/26 in four overs. Pandya had a great game as an all-rounder.
Riyan Parag – Nil
Parag didn’t get to bowl or bat in this match.
Rinku Singh – Nil
Rinku didn’t get to bowl or bat in this match.
Washington Sundar – 8.5
Sundar bowled impressively in the two overs he was given. He bowled to Bangladesh’s top-scorer Mehidy Hasan Miraz and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and dismissed the latter via caught and bowled. He conceded 12 runs in two overs with one boundary.
Varun Chakravarthy – 9
Chakravarthy returned to the T20I XI after almost three years. It wasn’t a great first over as he leaked 15 runs, but he bounced back strongly to pick up three wickets in each of his next three overs and finish with figures of 3/31.
Arshdeep Singh – 9.5
Arshdeep Singh had the perfect game. He didn’t bowl unplayable deliveries, but showed the accuracy and smarts with which he had helped India win the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 as well.
He conceded only one boundary in the 23 balls he bowled. Arshdeep dismissed Liton Das in the first over and in his second over, he castled Parvez Hossain Emon. He returned for a spell in the death overs where he knocked over Mustafizur, finishing with figures of 3/14.
Mayank Yadav – 8
Mayank Yadav was highly impressive on his T20I debut. He started with a maiden over and in his second over, had Mahmudullah caught at deep point with a 146.1 kph delivery.
Mayank finished with figures of 4-1-21-1 and troubled the Bangladeshi batters with his high pace.
