The IND vs BAN T20I series will begin on October 6, with the first game scheduled to be played in Gwalior.

After a gap of more than a month, the Indian cricket team will be back in action with a two-match test series against Bangladesh, which will be followed by a three-match T20I series.

Suryakumar Yadav will be leading India in the T20I series, which will begin on October 6 in Gwalior. The other two games will take place on October 9 and 12 in Delhi and Hyderabad respectively.

India have a jam-packed schedule for the next six months, which includes 10 test matches. That’s why the BCCI selectors could rest the test regulars from the T20I series against Bangladesh.

The likes of Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, and other test players are expected to be rested from the T20Is to manage their workload. In this article, we will predict the Indian squad for the T20I series against Bangladesh.

IND vs BAN: Indian Cricket Team 15-member squad for T20I series against Bangladesh – Predicted

1. Suryakumar Yadav (C)

Suryakumar Yadav will be the first name on the team sheet as he is India’s T20I skipper. He had a good start to his full-time T20I captaincy tenure with a series whitewash over Sri Lanka. This IND vs BAN T20I series will be the first home series for Suryakumar as the full-time skipper.

2. Ruturaj Gaikwad

Ruturaj Gaikwad is expected to be back for India as opener. He has been among runs in the Duleep Trophy 2024 and has done well whenever he got the chance for India. With Gill and Jaiswal likely to be rested, Gaikwad should be picked in the India squad for the IND vs BAN T20I series.

3. Abhishek Sharma

If India rest Gill and Jaiswal to manage the workload ahead of the home test series against New Zealand, then Abhishek Sharma is expected to get a chance. The southpaw started his T20I career pretty well with a century in his second outing and might play his first international home series in October.

4. Sanju Samson (wk)

Pant is likely to be rested from the T20I series, and that would open the gates for Sanju Samson to feature in a few more T20Is. The Kerala-born star has been in and out of the team, but he has had his chances as a backup keeper.

He had two ducks, though, in Sri Lanka. But before that, he hit a fifty in Zimbabwe.

5. Ishan Kishan (wk)

Ishan Kishan is likely to get back into the national team setup after a century in the second round of the Duleep Trophy 2024-25. Ishan also made an impact in the Buchi Babu tournament with a quickfire ton.

Kishan is expected to return to the T20I setup with the Bangladesh series.

6. Rinku Singh

Star batter Rinku Singh managed only two runs in Sri Lanka, but did well in Zimbabwe. He recently had a good season in the UPT20 League 2024, and his team, Meerut Mavericks, won the title.

The southpaw has become an established finisher in T20 cricket. He is expected to be in the IND vs BAN T20I squad.

7. Riyan Parag

2024 has been a great year for Riyan Parag. He had a career-changing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, which earned him his debut for India in ODIs and T20Is. He was impressive with the ball in Sri Lanka.

India would look to give him more chances and grow into a proper all-rounder.

8. Shivam Dube

The year 2024 has been great for Shivam Dube as well. He made his comeback to the Indian team and played a small but key role in India lifting the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 trophy. With Hardik Pandya always under an injury cloud, India would look to keep Dube in the setup and give him more opportunities in T20Is.

9. Hardik Pandya

Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya was in great form during the T20 World Cup with the ball. He featured in the T20Is in Sri Lanka and is expected to play in the IND vs BAN T20I series at home.

He is a key player for India in white-ball cricket, someone who provides the desired balance to the XI.

10. Ravi Bishnoi

Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has grabbed his opportunities with both hands whenever he has been picked in the team. India might give rest to Axar and Kuldeep, which will make way for Bishnoi to be a starter against Bangladesh. He already has an impressive T20I record – 48 wickets in 32 matches – and we will see him spinning his web around in the IND vs BAN T20Is.

11. Washington Sundar

With Ravindra Jadeja retiring from T20Is and Axar likely to be rested, Washington Sundar is going to be the spin-bowling all-rounder for India against Bangladesh. He had good series against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, and India will look to keep this continuity.

It will be a great chance for him to strengthen his place in India’s T20I squad with a good performances in the IND vs BAN series.

12. Harshit Rana

Harshit Rana travelled with the team on the Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka tours, but didn’t get a chance to make his debut. He now has had strong Duleep Trophy performances to back his claim. The Delhi-born pacer could make his T20I debut in the upcoming IND vs BAN series.

13. Arshdeep Singh

The left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has become a regular pacer in India’s T20I XI. He was the highest wicket-taker during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Arshdeep also has good home records in T20Is. He has the skillset to excel both with the new ball and old ball.

14. Avesh Khan

Avesh Khan has been part of India’s backup pace group for the past couple of years. He has been picked when the management has given rest to the seniors. He played three games against Zimbabwe and took six wickets. Avesh also featured in the first round of the Duleep Trophy 2024 and had a decent outing.

15. Mukesh Kumar

Mukesh Kumar is another pacer who has been a key part of India’s second-string teams. He has represented India in all three formats and has done well. He bowled impressively for India B in the Duleep Trophy 2024, taking 10 wickets in two matches.

He is likely to be part of the Indian pace unit for the upcoming IND vs BAN series.
