Jasprit Bumrah became the sixth Indian pacer to pick 400 wickets in international cricket.

Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah achieved a huge bowling milestone as he scalped his 400th international wicket during the first test match between India and Bangladesh in Chennai.

The right-arm speedster Bumrah became the 10th Indian bowler to pick up 400 wickets in international cricket. The 30-year-old is the sixth Indian pacer to attain this feat, joining the likes of Kapil Dev, Zaheer Khan and Mohammed Shami.

During the second day of the ongoing Chennai test between India and Bangladesh, Bumrah was at his best right from his first over.

After claiming the first two wickets in the first session of day 2, Bumrah’s 400th international wicket came after the lunch break. In the 37th over of Bangladesh’s first innings, Bumrah dismissed batter Hasan Mahmud to claim his 400th international wicket.

At the time of writing, Bumrah has played 196 international matches and claimed 400 wickets. The right-arm speedster has a bowling average of 21.01 and has 12 five-wicket hauls across formats.

Ravichandran Ashwin’s century puts India in a commanding position against Bangladesh in the first test

After being asked to bat first, India made 376 runs in the first innings, riding on Ravichandran Ashwin’s 113 runs and Ravindra Jadeja’s 85.

At the time of writing, Bangladesh are struggling at 116/8 after the end of 38 overs.
