Suryakumar Yadav completed 2500 runs in T20Is.

India crushed Bangladesh by 133 runs in the third and final T20I to complete an emphatic 3-0 clean sweep in the series. The game in Hyderabad saw the Indian team post a record-breaking total of 297/6 in their 20 overs, the highest T20I score by a test-playing nation. The win completed an excellent series for India, with the team displaying immense discipline in all three departments of the game.

Sanju Samson was the star of the day, smashing his maiden T20I century. Samson played a blistering knock of 111 off just 47 balls, powering India to a record-breaking total. Suryakumar Yadav on the other hand was equally impressive, scoring 75 off 35 balls. His partnership with Samson was a crucial part of India’s innings, as they tormented Bangladesh’s bowling attack in the middle overs.

Bangladesh’s chase never took off, with the Indian bowlers keeping them in check and eventually restricting them for 164, securing a huge victory.

Suryakumar Yadav surpasses Rohit Sharma

Along with the record total, another significant milestone was reached during the Indian innings. Suryakumar Yadav crossed 2500 runs in T20I cricket, becoming the third Indian to achieve this feat. His explosive 75-run knock helped him reach the milestone in just 71 innings.

Yadav’s 2500 runs in 71 innings makes him the second-fastest Indian to complete this feat. He surpassed Rohit Sharma, who reached the milestone in 92 innings.

Just short of Virat Kohli’s Indian record

While Suryakumar’s achievement is truly remarkable, he has narrowly missed out on breaking Virat Kohli’s Indian record. Kohli holds the record of being the fastest Indian to score 2500 T20I runs, having achieved it in just 68 innings. Suryakumar fell just three innings short of matching Kohli’s feat.

Across all nations, Pakistan’s Babar Azam remains the fastest to score 2500 T20I having reached the milestone in just 62 innings.
