The IND vs ENG semi-final will be played on June 27 in Guyana.

The second semi-final at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be contested between India and England on June 27, Thursday, at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

These two teams had met two years ago in the semi-final at the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 as well, where Jos Buttler and Alex Hales consigned India to a 10-wicket defeat. In this upcoming semi-final at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, the Men In Blue would be looking to take revenge for that embarrassing loss.

The Rohit Sharma-led side finished the Super 8 round at the top of the Group 1 standings. India won all their three Super 8 games by significant margins. India recorded wins by 47 and 50 runs against Afghanistan and Bangladesh respectively, before thumping Australia by 24 runs to seal their semi-final berth.

The defending champions England were the first team to enter the semi-finals from Group 2. In the Super 8 round, they first defeated West Indie by eight wickets but then lost to South Africa by only seven runs. A 10-wicket win over the USA propelled them into the knockout rounds.

India and England then met at the 2012 T20 World Cup in Colombo, where the Asian side thumped the Three Lions by 90 runs, courtesy of Harbhajan Singh’s 4/12.
