IND vs ENG: Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul ruled out of 2nd test; 3 players named as replacements

Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul have been ruled out of the second match of the IND vs ENG test series.
In a major setback for Indian cricket team, Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul will be out of the upcoming second test against England in the ongoing five-match test series. The duo, instrumental in India’s cricket capabilities, have been ruled out due to respecgtive injuries, adding to India’s woes after the defeat in the first test in Hyderabad.
India faced a disappointing start to the series, losing the first test to England. As the world anticipated a strong comeback from the home team, the news of Jadeja and Rahul’s unavailability has sent shockwaves through the cricketing fraternity. Adding to the concerns, Indian star batter Virat Kohli, who pulled out of the first two tests citing personal reasons, will also be absent from the second Test, further challenging India’s batting department.
Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul to miss the second test
Ravindra Jadeja, the dynamic all-rounder, suffered a hamstring injury on Day 4 of the first test. KL Rahul, known for his elegant batting, complained of a right quadriceps pain, forcing him to sit out of the crucial encounter in Vizag.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Medical team are closely monitoring the progress of both players, emphasizing their importance to the team’s success.
To fill the void left by these two stalwarts, the Men’s Selection Committee has announced the inclusion of Sarfaraz Khan, Sourabh Kumar and Washington Sundar in the squad. Sarfaraz Khan, with an impressive track record in First-Class cricket, brings a wealth of experience, having scored 3912 runs at an outstanding average of 69.85, including 14 centuries and 11 fifties.
Sourabh Kumar, the left-arm off-spinner from Uttar Pradesh is also included in the squad, in 68 First-Class matches he has picked up 290 wickets and will solidify India’s spin department. Washington Sundar, who has been in and out of the team will be back he has already played seven test matches for India and might get a direct entry in the playing XI.
Additionally, Saransh Jain steps in as a replacement for Washington Sundar in the India A squad, indicating a depth in talent within the Indian cricketing circuit.
Avesh Khan who was released from the squad before the first test, will continue to travel with Madhya Pradesh Ranji team and will get a call if further required.
