Kuldeep Yadav picked up a five-wicket haul while Ravi Ashwin scalped four wickets in the first innings of IND vs ENG fifth test match.

Team India have done an impressive job against England in the fifth test at HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. Despite the challenging weather and conditions, Indian spinners rattled the English batting lineup and bundled them out for a mere 218 runs. English skipper Ben Stokes won the toss and elected to bat first, but Kuldeep Yadav’s five-wicket haul and Ravi Ashwin’s magical spell against the tail were enough to tame ‘Bazball.’

There was a moment to adore for cricket fans when the Indian players were walking off the field after getting England all-out in the final session on day one. Kuldeep wanted Ashwin to lead the team while walking off the field, but Ashwin was adamant on Kuldeep leading the side, as he had picked up a five-wicket haul.

‘I have 35 balls’

Kuldeep Yadav revealed the chat he had with ace Indian off-spinner Ravi Ashwin and said that he wanted Ashwin to lead the side while walking off as he was playing his 100th test match. He also revealed that he wanted Ashwin to keep the ball as it was a special occasion for him. Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav said, “Ash bhai told me I have 35 balls, and asked me to keep this one.”

Later,, Kuldeep Yadav walked off the field leading the Indian side after England’s innings. Yadav bowled a magnificent spell on day one of the fifth test. He dismissed Zack Crawley (79), Ben Duckett (27), Ollie Pope (11), Jonny Bairstow (29) and Ben Stokes (0) in his spell. Kuldeep Yadav made his test debut at this ground against Australia during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2017.

Kuldeep Yadav also expressed that more game-time helps players to get rewards in test cricket. He added, “If you play regularly, you get more confident about your bowling. Game awareness also comes with it. It is very important to keep playing regularly as it makes your bowling sharp.” Team India are in a commanding position with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill both having scored centuries on day two.
