IND vs ENG: Shubman Gill breaks Hashim Amla's ODI cricket record

Shubman Gill made his ODI debut in 2019.
Jos Buttler won the toss and chose to field in the third and last ODI of the series against India at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Both teams made changes in their playing XI. Tom Banton replaced Jamie Overton for England, while India brought in Washington Sundar, Arshdeep Singh, and Kuldeep Yadav for Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, and Varun Chakravarthy.
Shubman Gill starred for the hosts and registered the seventh ODI century of his career. The opener hit 112 runs off 102 balls, smashing 14 fours and three sixes. He stitched a 116-run partnership with Virat Kohli for the second wicket and added another 104 runs with Shreyas Iyer, helping India post a big total.
Gill has been in great form in this series. He was India’s top-scorer in the first ODI with 87 runs in Nagpur and contributed with 60 in the second ODI at Cuttack.
Shubman Gill breaks Hashim Amla’s ODI cricket record
Thanks to his brilliant century, Gill has now scored the most runs in ODI cricket after 50 innings, surpassing Hashim Amla. The Punjab batsman has 2,587 runs in 50 ODI innings, going past Amla’s tally of 2,486 runs in the same number of innings.
Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq has the third-most runs after 50 ODI innings with 2,386 runs. Fakhar Zaman and Shai Hope follow in fourth and fifth places with 2,262 and 2,247 runs, respectively.
