Rajat Patidar has so far managed scores of 32,9,5,0,17 and 0 in the ongoing test series.

Indian middle-order batter Rajat Patidar was dismissed on a six-ball duck in the second innings of the Ranchi test. Star Indian batter Virat Kohli’s absence allowed Patidar to get an opportunity in Indian middle-order in test cricket. Patidar made his debut in Visakhapatnam test and team management kept the Madhya Pradesh batter in the fray but he has failed to live up to the expectations in this format of the game.

Rajat Patidar was caught at short leg by Ollie Pope against English off-spinner Shoaib Bashir in the fourth day of Ranchi test. Patidar looked uncomfortable against Bashir and faced only six deliveries before walking back to the pavilion. There were huge expectations from Rajat Patidar who was seen as a possible replacement in the star studded Indian middle-order during transition period.

Fans brutally troll Rajat Patidar

Indian fans on social media looked unhappy with Rajat Patidar’s performance. Performance in these three tests also may make a big dent on Patidar’s confidence. The 30-year-old batter was brutally trolled on social media for his consistent poor show with the bat. He batted for six innings in this series so far and crossed thirty run mark only once, in his maiden test innings.

Here’s how twitter reacted to Rajat Patidar’s flop show

Rajat Patidar scored 32 runs in his maiden test innings on debut at the Dr. YSR ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium. Patidar batted for five more innings and was not able to cross single digit score in four out of five innings. Patidar was dismissed on duck twice in the ongoing series. Apart from the second innings in Ranchi, he was out on 10-ball duck in the Rajkot test as well.

Right hand batter Rajat Patidar has so far scored only 63 runs in six test innings. His average stands at 10.50 with highest score of just 32 runs. KL Rahul will probably make his comeback in the final test match at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. Patidar might be replaced by KL Rahul in the Indian playing XI. India won the Ranchi test by five wickets and have sealed the series 3-1.
