Indian Cricket Team, ICC T20 World Cup 2026 final, IND vs NZ

India will face New Zealand in the T20 World Cup 2026 final on March 8.

India and New Zealand (IND vs NZ) are set to square off in the final of the T20 World Cup 2026. The summit clash will be played on Sunday, March 8, at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

While India eye their third title in the tournament’s history, New Zealand aim for their maiden T20 World Cup title. The Suryakumar Yadav & Co. also look forward to their first win against New Zealand in the tournament’s history, having lost three times previously.

Mitchell Santner & Co. showcased a marvellous form in the semi-final against South Africa, crushing them by 9 wickets. Therefore, India cannot take them lightly and need to pick their strongest playing XI for the crucial clash.

The Men-in-Blue have picked the same playing XI in the last three matches, and it has worked as they have won each time. However, Abhishek Sharma’s ongoing batting struggles and Varun Chakravarthy’s expensive spells in recent games will be a big concern for the defending champions.

Rumours were rife that Rinku Singh might be included in the final against New Zealand, while Kuldeep Yadav could get a chance as a frontline spinner. However, a big update on India’s playing XI has come just ahead of the match.

According to a report by Devendra Pandey of The Indian Express, India are likely to play with the same team in the final against New Zealand.

Therefore, Abhishek is expected to get one more opportunity and will aim to finish the tournament on a high note. Moreover, Varun and Axar Patel will lead the spin attack, while Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh will have the responsibility of the pace department.

Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan (WK), Suryakumar Yadav (C), Hardik Pandya, Tilak Varma, Axar Patel, Shivam Dube, Varun Chakaravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh.

What will be India’s playing XI for the T20 World Cup 2026 final?

According to reports, India will retain their same playing XI for the T20 WC 2026 final against New Zealand.

When and where will the T20 World Cup 2026 final take place?

The IND vs NZ final will take place on March 8 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
